Are krone 280 mowers any good.

I can only speak of my 2.4m one, and it is light, simple, shaft drive, so no belts, and seems strong enough. Not fallen apart in the 10yrs I've had it.
Probably makes no difference, but I think I remember the bigger ones lay two rows instead of one because of direction discs spin.
Looked at Kuhn as well, but thought it was bitty construction in comparison to clean design of Krone.

Seen one for sale 280 easy cut are the a good mower or not my claas is getn on abit. Looking for a change.
Weve a 280 2014 model, serious conditioner on it , its a job to beat a krone cut with plenty of overlap on the discs, dont cut mega acerage with it 400 450 acres a year. Heavy old thing though,

Friend of mine had the bigger trailed Krone model with the centre pivot you could swing left or right and he was always praising it. Just don't see many krone machines around compared to Claas, Kuhn or Pottinger.
We've a Krone 3600 trailed with merger. Beast of a thing and no belts (other than the merger belt) that go snap. Built strong, so a bit heavy and thanks to fully metallic power delivery it's a bit noisy outside but doesn't really matter since nobody's gonna walk beside it whilst mowing. Many have Krone or Elho here.
