Aviation fuel price?

How come the price of a holiday abroad has not gone through the roof due to the high cost of aviation fuel ,pricing holiday makers out of the market from taking a break abroad. We have a small caravan site that is relatively quiet and people are heading abroad rather than the Yorkshire dales. I have never had or wished for holidays abroad rarely leave Yorkshire , there's my bit for the environment.

i was thinking similar......big rush to go abroad....though god knows why as airports are horrible places these days IMO.....our holiday let is quieter than normal which is a bit worrying

only thing i can think is airlines bought fuel forward last year so impact yet to catch up :scratchhead:

If fuel is £2 a litre and too expensive to fill up why is the main road past my farm still hectic most hours of the day? No they are not going to work mid morning or delivering stuff either. Its a mystery.
Was having this discussion last night….the roads are as busy now as they were when fuel was £1.40
Only time the roads were quiet was lockdown….bliss

Any flights I've looked at are more expensive at the moment.
Air New Zealand said yesterday prices are going to rise. Apparently filling up a 787 Dreamliner to go from NZ to LA used to cost $40,000 USD now costs $96,000. Meaning ticket prices have risen 20%.
Perhaps your airlines are eating some of the rise?

I don’t think the OP has actually kept track of prices. They have never gone abroad so have never priced any flights let alone monitored them for a year or two to gauge any differences. Not exactly a position of authority.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
