Barn drying hay

I have used our Challow grain drying floor to dry ‘iffy ‘ hay before. This year I ruined some Timothy haylage as it ‘cooked’ in the extreme heat we had in June. Then foolishly baleD it as hay too soon. Ended up stacking big bales tight in the grain store and blowing it a week with ambient air which was very low humidity. Got me out of trouble but wouldn’t want to do a lot on a regular basis.

Sorry to jump on to this, Alternatively consider using hay preservatives on the hay as you make it, it will reduce the days to make hay, reduce labour from tedding passes, And help you to get bales in the shed instead of wrapping in plastic

What % do you bale at
If you consider 14% and below safe and dry to store then on LS up-to 27%, round Up to 30%, conventional 27% if using a bale Barron type machine 30% if flat 8. Application rates increase as the crop gets wetter. Our product will work up to 30% but Only with accurate Bale weights and therefore t/hr being used. Of course if you have uneven tedding with green lumps in comparison to the rest of the crop it’s possible to get spoilage around the area of the lump

How do you find palatability? As if you are going to say anything other than great....
I never liked the smell at higher application rates.....

Firstly I’m not trying to flog my products there are others on the market, I’m trying to get a conversation going.
I Can’t deny the smell of any of the products And it gets stronger the more you put on, I normally describe a pickled smell. My wife’s horses eat it without issues, but I have heard that some don't
All I will say is I have some top end establishments in the equine world using my products.
