Want to put in a new 10000l rainwater tank, how thick concrete would you put under it? About 2.8m diameter tank so going to do 3x3m. Was thinking 200mm

My second hand 12,000 litre rainwater tank is on about 100mm of MOT blinded off with DPC and sand, no issues and the first owner just had it on bare earth and in many places. ie. it was a "mobile" tank.
You can over think these things and I would be astonished if 100mm of concrete on a compacted base ever gave any trouble.

Keep me in the picture sounds exactly like mine, but I might keep it strictly rain with the current 5000l mains one as back up.
My thoughts was to have a mains option for like the spring when it doesn’t rain for 7 weeks and want to go spraying and the mains feed goes past this pad, plus new sprayer is bigger than existing tank so need to do something

I was thinking that too but where to put the mains water ballcock?
I suppose you could have it at the top and the mains turned off and just turn it on, the day before predicted spraying to top up
Sorry, just thinking aloud.

My plan was to put at the top on a separate on/off tap so only used when I need and cut a hole below it in the side of the tank with a socket and elbow pointing dow so it cannot over fill and suck back but the float can still turn the ballcock off

I think I'd make a header tank before I cut a hole in my nice rainwater tank, cut a hole in the header tank if necessary.

Dont let water board see it if its got a mains feed ,,buggers made landlord cut a hole in his at water level to stop any chance of it getting back into the mains pipe which it couldnt but ,,another box ticking exercise

Brain storming time. Only cos I have 2*30KLtr rainwater tanks.
If the tank is 2.8 mtrs wide my maths comes out at 1.4*1.4*3.142=61,583SqCtmtrs=0.16 Kilo's per Sq Centimeter = not a lot. Gosh I hope my maths is correct, cos that only needs a firm base?

10,000 l ?
I have a few 20,000 l & a 45,000 l ( plastic ) tanks that have been sitting on bare dirt for over 20 years with no issue

generally, the recommendations are a slightly raised, compacted gravel pad, with sand over the top

I have gravel in the area I just want it nice and clean so the area doesn’t get caked in mud for half the year while filling the sprayer. So will put a concert base under the tank and another concrete pad to fill the sprayer on.

I've a 28000 litre, and a 35000 litre, both metal.
Both on plinths( one old atcost uprights , other just steel plinths under a cylindrical tank)both sat on crushed concrete.
Neither gone far at all.
Got a 40 cube fert tank, had to have 10 inches crush, 6 inches concrete, with mesh.
That's not moved either, but it is fibreglass so wouldn't want to
