Been there, got the t shirt. Most of the locals have no idea of the strings farmers can pull and help in the peripheries they give sometimes. Never helps when loudest shouters have lived there the least amount of time.

Do you happen to know who the developer was?
3 successive companies
Green Frog and Enzo were 2
I can’t remember the 3rd company it began with A I think

Heard of both.

To get 3 he must be in a good spot near a recent network upgrade

Get an agent on to then, maybe put grid application in himself and then out to tender if he likes a flutter

You've misunderstood.
They lured him in, applied for planning in his name & left him carrying the can.
Permission refused and his reputation tarnished with locals.
He's trying to finally get a house on his farm (260 acres) having paid council tax on a static caravan for 30 years, but locals object - because of power station application.
He's now at an age (55) where he just feels like packing up - no successor.

Its a 5ac compound of shipping containers 3m high screened by hedges and tree planting. Just 150 m away from the edge of the farm yard and buildings thats twice the area and twice the height of the compound- So quite right, theres no different really.
Are you suggesting you have a 10 acre farmyard?
Good luck with your project as we need better infrastructure but you are too far away for my support. A bit like all the objectors to wind turbines here - most of them just sign up to oppose every project in the UK.
If I was a planner and saw 300 names in support and only 20 were local I would take less notice. Is that how it works?

Ah ok, that’s wasn’t mentioned in your previous comments.

Sounds like he’s not had great advice if all the planning went in, in his name.

Usually they go in in their name with your permission. I never let anyone else put anything in on our turf with out me going over it first. I also use a planning consultant who they pay for to steer and get the best result.

As you say, these big guys don’t care about the long term, we have to live with it when it goes wrong so essential to get a good team on your side finder by them.

I’m fairly sure they - allegedly - used Browns but not 100% sure

Heard there can be major issues if a fire ever breaks out on a battery site. It can burn out of control for long long time. So just be careful how close you build it to dwelling houses. Apparently one went in fire in china and authorities covered the sorry saga up. Dont get me wrong im not against the idea, in fact even looked into it myself one time, except found out was too far away from the sub station

The built area of containers, 3ac, is less than half the built farmyard footprint 6ac.
Yes distance support could be viewed differently to local. However, the local objections contain much of the same media spread misinformation. Example being "floodlit" and light pollution, used excessively in objections considering there are no lights (exceptionally during any night maintenance)
Not sure how to weight any Planning comment.

Jumping on here but had a phone call yesterday from a firm called “pace energy” anybody heard of them?? We have quite a few pylons on our land an they want to draw power off, store in batteries an then send back when there’s demand, is this correct?? This is my basic understanding from a five minute conversation!! The storage facility would be on a neighbours land next to mine but I have the pylons so they need me to make a connection, is there any money in allowing this or would it not be worth the aggravation? Sorry for jumping on the thread @TeaBread

Correct analysis of its operations. It would be worth while getting a connection over your land as there would be no effort on your behalf for a sensible project.

We were approached a few years ago but they backed out when they discovered that it was in clear greenbelt and not near to existing buildings.
They seemed to want a corner pylon (where the lines change direction) as they have a wider base and are stronger for running the cables up.
