Best product for lifting specific weight in oats.?

So far my spring oats have had no sprays they look so crap. Inevitable now they will grow another six feet tall; be all at different stages; shake out in the wind; then go flat.

We grew Gerald winter oats and first year was a spectacular yield and sample.
Thereafter we never could get oats to fill, despite identical agronomy. Moved to spring oats same problem. Too dry.
No accident they are favoured north of the border like swedes.

Lots of land around here is infected with Oat Mosaic Virus, which is soil borne and very similar to Rhizomania in sugar beet. So we changed to spring oats years ago, because they are not affected. Low seed rate and a good draft on the combine will go a long way, but moisture is the real answer.
