Big increase in cost of ready mix concrete

On Last nights news there was an article saying big increases in costs of various things , one of which is ready mix but I didn't hear by how much as I was half asleep!!
Will this put a stop to future shed builds ??

They have gone up that fast it had to happen
canada produces major amounts of timber products and ships them to the states. Oddly it’s cheaper once it crosses the border. Same as fuel produced here. Mostly tax for the government to squander on buying votes come election time. Which happens to be this coming Monday now theres a coincidence that timber will make a new house 30k less.

How much have buildings gone up in the last year? I don’t envy you guys atm
Was quoted on box profile sheets today exactly double the cost/m2 which they were in January
Timber has gone up 40%
Cold rolled purlins similar
Steel beams up £400/ton
Angle and box even more
One item which has kept quite stable is fibre cement sheets which were once similar price to box profile. Now they are considerably cheaper and the option to choose for roofing

And worse than the price increases is actually managing to get supplies when required. Lead times have increased
this year from 10 days to 10 weeks in some cases. If they actually have anything

That takes some keeping up with I bet!! Interesting note on the sheets.

I rang up for a few for a pal few weeks ago and couldn’t believe what they said I asked the lady if she was joking!!

A neighbour wanted to do some concrete round his house last week. Had a load of gravel tipped, hired a pan mixer and then found out the builders merchants were going only letting people.have five bags of cement because it's in short supply

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
