Boom auto height sensor failure

I had a new sensor fitted 18months ago on an insurance claim as I hit it on an electric pole. These are a sealed unit so quite surprised when it failed a couple of weeks ago. I have been on to the supplier and the insurance company about this as it only being 18months old and covered 1200 hectares I think that this falls way short of its intended life span. Supplier just says 12 months warranty.
Just wondering if someone else has had the same experience is there a faulty batch or a known problem. Waiting to hear back from insurance to see if they can throw some weight behind this.
picture of part below as I expect that this is on many makes of sprayer.
The Amazone part number is NH 141

Thanks in advance for your constructive comments. 😉

I think you will be very lucky to get any help, if they wanted to offer longer support there would be a longer warranty period.
It looks to be an ultrasonic sensor, is the Amazone cable it's attached to very expensive?

I swapped a nozzle motor on the boom of our Amazone and it wouldn’t map its position properly on the control box. Then it lost the position of some more nozzles. It was new in 2021.

Dealer out yesterday and they reckon it needs a new wiring harness on the boom. Am waiting to see whether the harness comes in segments or what and how many zillion pounds Amazone want for it.

Can get a better picture of the label for a different part number you will find it is supplied by a third party.
