I was reminded today that in the past there have been many instances of claimants receiving the December ‘grinch’ letter saying they won’t be paid in December only for the money to be in accounts not long after. The RPA will be making more releases before the new year so it’s worth check bank accounts even if you’ve got a letter.

Having said that I know from experience that raising expectations only for them not to be met is a dangerous game. The money ain’t in the bank until it’s in the bank.
Happened to me 2 years ago, money in the bank 2 days after email of doom

Well they still haven’t replied or acknowledged my emails after the remote inspection but the moneys in the bank.
Have no way of knowing if I’ve been penalised, penalties not being applied, the errors corrected or whether they didn’t intend to pay me yet.
Can’t speak to anyone to find out what’s going on but at least I’ve been paid.

Patience. You will get a Claim Statement in a few days. And from that you will be able to see first, if all the entitlements are activated, and second if any penalties applied. Then you can decide if further action is required.

We had the letter, but I was very pleased to see we were paid yesterday ?

Actually, Guy Smith's optimism has turned out, in our case at least, to be fully justified.

Notwithstanding receipt of the letter of doom, it now seems that we were paid some here on the RPA's 23rd Dec run - and it has turned up in our account on 27th Dec.

Not in full, of course, because of a couple of errors going back several years of which the NFU is aware.

But so far, so good.

:oops::oops:

Let's hope there were many more paid, in full, on 23rd Dec.

That's quite appalling, Poorbuthappy.

You should have had at least one or the other, if not both.

Are you with the NFU?

If you think it’s bad that’s he’s not had a letter or email (which I agree it is) you should see the state of mine on the BPS website.
Now I cant download or see my 2015/16 claims as they where done on paper as the system was all to cock in those years. But I can see and download 17/18 and 19, and these show I have eligible land and entitlements to go with it but I’ve never been paid. It all appeared to get changed to this after a remote inspection (I knew nothing about till I found the email in my spam folder some weeks later) showing everything as eligible, then I get an email from the appeals team saying I’m not eligible on Monday 16 Dec. The following day I get the email of doom saying i won’t get payed in Dec as they are still working on it, it’s all still the same land and entitlements still there.

I really wish I had the money and resources to take the RPA to task on this as its an absolute disgrace a government body can get away with this imo !.

Anybody else still waiting?
@cattleman123 ?

Just rang, and despite mine having been shown as preparing for payment since end of Nov, it's with the "finance team" undergoing "final checks".
I thought having passed the "final checking" stage on the website that would mean final checks have been done. But no, once it goes to "preparing for payment" the finance team do their "final checks". :mad:

So shouldn't I have received an email to say I won't be paid in December?
"No, not necessarily"

The system is a joke.
