I surfaced our well walked footpath with astroturf,because of complaints since on the rest of a circular route the council have dug and laid stone,we’re talking a couple of miles,I dread to think what it cost compared to my 1200m of turf.

You can find used Astroturf available for the haulage. Councils have a disposal probelm when renewing playing fields.
