Broadleaf Sprays - what am I missing?

I can use 24D as part of a mix with roundup in Kyleo as a full knockdown of weeds.

But when it comes to spring crops I'm finding myself ladling on expensive Zypar because I'm now scared of growing direct drill osr with an su

What am I missing here, What is it that those old fashioned contact b/l sprays such as MCPA and 24D that will be less effective in my spring cereals but in the case of 24D can knock down anything out of crop?

I have a different weed spectrum for b/l weeds in no till so there is an element of less chickweed types and slightly edging towards more perennial broadleaves.

I don’t understand what your trying to say here

Old hormones don’t cover the spectrum ?
Arylex is safer after stem extension but is still on patent of course ,

Spitfire is still an ALS inhibitor

If it's residues you want to avoid, don't use metsulfuron. That pushes you into Zypar type products because there are a few gaps left even with a cocktail of hormones. I've done the same on a couple of blocks I want to put into osr this autumn. Big thistles means Zypar + MCPA. Boudha + CMPP + fluroxypyr for the rest where I'm not bothered by possible residues but still have a broad spectrum of weeds like thistles, chickweed, fat hen, bindweed, brassicas and fumitory.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
