Whilst killing as few other species of grasses/ herbal ley as possible please?
I'm convinced its come in a seed mix that shouldn't have had any but of course the seed company are swearing no one else has complained and it must've self seeded - not in this volume it hasnt in one year :o
Cheers.
Put grass seeds in about 3 weeks ago, they are up and away. Sprayed with roundup first, should I be spraying for docks again now or wait until Spring. I can see the little buggers there starting to grow. Our two Spring reseeds were not sprayed at all, tried to be clever, it didn't work, now...
So we have some established docks and thistles etc that I want to get rid of.
Knapsack and quad sprayer.
Grazon pro.
Doxstar Pro.
Pastor.
Thistles.
What to use?
Rather have something that will work on all rather than just one weed but does it do as good a job?
Morning everyone. Could I have some suggestions for establishing clover (white and or red) in mature grassland. I'm looking for alternative methods what don't cost much.
I could graze it tight and drill it but timing, cost and weather really are big factors as I wouldn't have more than one...
Silage field was sprayed this past with with forefront, been assured it’s safe to cut it won’t forefront as the much from the resulting silage will only ever be used back on grassland. But what I was wondering how long after spraying is it safe to cut it ?
Had a silage field sprayed today for docks, didn’t realise just how much grass on it . How soon do I need to leave it before mowing ? I used gal gone spray only thing I can find is keep livestock off for 7 days
Seem to be more of a problem every year around this time.what are people using to take them out or would a higher rate of stomp/picona in autumn be more effective?
Has anyone had good or bad success with stitching new grass seed into an existing high input/output silage sward? We have a block of land in its 5th year ley, fairly open sward with no thatch due to the hybrid/perennial ryegrass mix but it has thinned a bit and we want to rejuvenate it. It's...
We’ve never really seen it before but what started as a small patch on an environmental strip has now swamped 4 acres of crap OSR. It’s a carpet of small yellow flowers atop a small dark green plant that looks like a tomato plant type leaf.
I think I will glypho the 4 acres soon as the OSR isn’t...
Aye-up,
I tidied up a rough corner of the yard two years ago. We then kept a couple of pigs on it and last summer I sowed some wild flower seeds on it.
It looked nice in the autumn, but now it’s just a mass of docks.
What will kill them but leave my wild flower mix?
Cheers, Pete.
