Cake stuck to side of bin - help!

Collinson steel bin, maybe 10 to 15 year old, a good few tons of cake stuck to one side...

Any good ideas on best way to free it off?

We have an entry hatch on the bottom of the bin.

Label says "high pressure hose"... does it work?

Rubber sledge hammer, you can hit it harder

Guessing the high pressure hose means pressure washing,so depends what you want to do with the cake? Our one bin always has blend stuck on the side out of the sun so the sound of a fence post bonging it is pretty common. Quite often hear an avalanche ten minutes later

Years ago we had fertiliser in bulk and stored in a fiberglass hopper. We didn't notice the top was cracked and left rainwater in. That was fun!!!

I’d probably avoid using the entry hatch at the bottom.

if the sides are bolted together, always whack the bolt heads with a sledge, that way you don't dent the walls of the bin.

Have a wooden (Simms) bin which regularly gets nuts stuck in the corners and I have to climb in the top through a small trapdoor and hack away with a spade. I’ve learned from bitter experience that you have to wear a mask in there, it’s full of mouldy dust.

Sod with warm cake, always best to get some out a few hours after its delivered just to move it abit. I had some fresh made meal put in one once, awful job getting it out. Sat ontop of the bin rodding it with a long bar for every bucket load was a nightmare.

No matter how tempting it is, don't batter the bin with the end of a wooden post or rubber hammer. You will dinge the steel and you'll forevermore have feed catching on the sides.

Take a heavy wooden skid, hold it vertically to the bin, and thump the flat side on the bin so that you don't create pressure points that dint.
