Cattle and camping

Hi TFF,

Like a lot of us, looking at camping diversification this year. We can't grow much grass in summer so could take a field out of the dairy grazing platform.

Here's the question... How long between taking the cattle off the field, and letting the campers in?

Cheers,

CB

Back in the day when Scout troops camped on farmers fields I seem to recall the withdrawal period was approx 10 minutes, that though was still better than the field with the earth bund slurry pit with continual seepage through the bund.

Does that mean we can close footpaths for 3 months if there have been cattle in the field? If not, why not? 🤔
wouldn't that be great, can't understand why its one rule for one part of the farm and one for another. The woman from the environmental health who was doing the original inspection for the licence said ' how would you feel if a child fell face first into cow faeces and caught e coli 'Maybe get a sign made with said picture advising footpaths closed as e coli risk

Totally ridiculous. They want access to the countryside because of the way it is..........and then immediately want to change it to suit their own agendas.
