That was right outside my house.
Local tosspot skip firm hauling rubble with tractor and trailer. Trailer came off tractor and ran down road over a car.
He'd been in my yard at the weekend. Trailer was about fooked. Big Marshall with silage sides on. View from our back window
Trailer hitch all wrapped up awaiting recovery

Terrible. Just goes to show what can happen. Everything will now be checked. Serviceabilty of brakes, hitch wear, etc. etc. Written maint records would be helpful if they've ever been kept. Driver training records if any training was ever given...... Was it agricultural work? You can get away with an awful lot and laugh at the regs as being for someone else. Until something like this happens.

I’ll be interested to see what they find with the hitch. Surely any weak points will be easily identifiable by the farmer before hitching up.

Unless it wasn’t latched up right. Which should also be easily checked by trying the spool for the extending hitch a couple of time’s.

The trailer lives on the tractor.
He call at my yard few weeks ago see if I wanted any hardcore.
I gate to be the tff armchair expert butI think 2+2 may we'll be close to 4.

I’m ashamed to admit it but about 10 years ago I was going to collect a trailer load of barley....I was going round this bend at full speed on a quiet country road and all I saw was the grain trailer go flying past me.....my arse fell out....thankfully for the love of god no one was coming at the time, when I checked, the trailer hadn’t locked in the hitch properly.....ever since that day I’ve double checked it’s locked in properly before setting off
