Apologies if my question is in the wrong section - I am new to this!! We are an organic farm in West Sussex....and in the market for Chicken Muck....around 2000 tonnes per year. I require some contacts to help me a consistent supply. My telephone number is 07545424170

Yes we can use it
And one of the protectionism / double standards from the SA is that Organic Farms can use conventional Poultry muck but the muck from an Organic poultry unit has to go onto Organic land
That ruling has meant the end of Chickens here.
And I believe that conventional muck that’s imported can’t contain any GM products so clearly any muck you use will be from Chickens that haven’t been fed GM Soya or Maize...

From Wales would be a non starter - Haulage cost a killer. What do you mean by slag?

Slag is hardly comparable to chicken muck.

Broiler dung is that rich in nutrients you can literally top dress crops with it, I can't see that it would be permitted under organic regulations? 2000 tonnes is going to be worth around £10,000 in my view unless someone is desperate to get rid of it?

I would be looking for digestate or pig slurry if it was me but I had clients who were with OF & G and they were not allowed to use it because of possible GM feed content?

As an organic farmer who imports organic chicken muck it all comes down to your location, as haulage can make it very costly.check with your certification body as they are not all the same . I think some will let you use conventional free range muck if no gm are fed. There was someone advertising it delivered by artic a few years ago but was very dear to me. Even local haulage with your own kit has a high cost as it is wet and heavy and hard on your kit from someone who does it.

We use to use chicken muck but it's now too costly to haul and store

Also spreading window was too narrow with the botulism risk on grassland.
