Cubicles

Hi,
We are looking to put up a new cubicle shed for our dairy cows and wondered what people's thoughts are on cubicles. Are these flexi ones any good? Or do people prefer the likes of iae ones.
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thanks

We have IAE with mattress with Holstein width but jersey length. Give them plenty of width is more important than any fanciness

You'll want mats/mattresses for them, don't get the individual ones, they're a massive pain, on our new cubicles it's a big long bit of rubber the length of all the cubicles and a bit of foam underneath.

We put a complete new cubicle shed up during Covid. There was plenty of keen labour about at the time! We used the IAE Ultimate cubicles and the IAE/Huber Technic mattresses. They are awful....

Can't get the cows out of the things to milk them they are so comfortable in there.

We were loose housed before and I think we had less than 5% refused to convert after a full winter, which honestly we were delighted with. Had 80% or so in a couple of days. Conversion was much much easier than we thought. Training new heifers also remains easy, once they go in once they are completely sold and not a problem again. Would absolutely recommend. We are planning putting a few more in (only about 30 to give us 160) and will build the same again no question.

Had Wilson ones in for 15 years now.
100% acceptance by the cows Mats still fine
A few floor mounting bolts to renew & a more robust head rail end clamp to make been the only problems.

I bought 20 second hand easifix cubicles this week. 30e a piece. The guy was replacing them as cows were reversing in etc. I want them for a hospital/special needs pen.

If only you could house train them to keep it looking like that 😍

You should post more photos of your cows BTW, they look lovely

Your not allowed to try and sell me anything though, I'm easily persuaded and must not buy any more 🙈

We recently installed Easyfix cubicles and the Easyfix Jupiter mattresses, cows were on deep bed sand before but had no issues transitioning them. Love the cubicles, you don’t realise how restrictive the metal ones can be until you get them in the plastic ones. I wouldn’t train heifers in them and we do have a cow who reverses in/ turns around but all in all very happy with them.
