We passed many military vehicles on route to Normandy But this little DUKW was loverly . It was in a convoy of about six vehicles all on NL plates . Also passsd a group of ladies all driving Willy’s Jeep’s all wearing full military clothing .

Wife’s grandad (who sadly passed away at the beginning of May) flew Dakotas in the war including at Arnhem and in the Far East.

Every one should make trip to the war cemeteries at least once in their life
I know it was sobering experience when I did

The RAF Dakota flew low over Mrs Fred's stables yesterday while we were fencing.It was doing a flypast at the former airborne forces base at Tarrant Rushton. I read somewhere that 36 Dakotas are taking part in the commemorations. That would be a sight to see if they all went over together.

I hope we might be in for some plane spotting as we are directly opposite the invasion beaches. I think I'll hide up somewhere quiet for the day.
