Anywhere else have such a concentration of dealers as North Yorkshire, within 15 mile radius of us we have 2 nh dealerships , 3 jd depots ( same dealer) 2 case ( again same dealer) 2 mf ( different company’s) 1 class, 1 deutz, 1 cat handlers, 1 McCormick/ merlo 1 Valtra/ challenger ,without 2nd hand dealers . Just thinking today after a visit from one there all after the same business . there isn’t that many farmers surely to carry all of them in the future ?

Bet youd be moaning if a dealer was 30 mile away ?‍♂️
Not really it means you go to a dealer for a lot at once ,used to pass a ford dealer 3-6 times a day , handy but at the end of the month it took some taking in just what we had spent . Was pleased in someways when they moved . Just asked is this countrywide or r we the exception

Was once told by an ag machine salesman “ l always say I’m busy because if I told them I was really quiet it would hardly inspire said customer to purchase “

Up in Northumberland there is no shortage of all colours of shinny toys for sale & they all seem to shift stuff, unsure if its the fact there might be more Owners than Tenants helping there sales tho?

They are not busy at all. Got a couple of family members who work in the the machinery industry in sales for manufacturers and both tell me how quiet its been most of 2019 and with the wet weather they think 2020 will be the same. As a general thought they both say if you look hard you can see that many dealers are reducing their used stocks to bring money back in. Theres talk of reducing new equipment prices but the main factories in the usa or germany won't play ball, so the industry is slowing right down to a crawl.
