I charge £300 per 8hr day for a 6.5 ton machine and the clock starts when I leave the house. If it’s a few days work I would knock travel time off but for a single day it needs to be paid for.

I expect to pay from when someone leaves their base until they finnish the job so travel home at their own expense or the next customer

Looks a smart bit of kit , but a machine and bucket the size on a 13t machine would leave some very wide ditches here hence the smaller machine . What’s the going rate for a 3 ton machine and driver then ?

As others have said a 3 ton machine will be of little use, especially if the land is wet, it will spend more time stuck then actually digging.

Plus it will need removing from site daily or it will leave on the back of a trailer being towed by a transit one night. 5 ton would be the best option if you can get one onto site?

yes i concur.
Well starting at about £250 a day for about 8hrs i should think.

i hire a 3t for a week self drive (7 days ) at about 250 or so ( including del. and taking back) much cheaper pro rata than even a 4 tonner plus. because del etc on that is by a bigger transporter ..for one reason.. and use it for most of that time. and im not slow.
last one was avolvo with very fast tracking, but ive got my own low loader if further moves are needed that week.
did some we ttest ground we farm last winter and the beauty is that a small machine like that doesnt makes a big mess and low er compaction than a bigger one in winter particularly . sip diesal as well.
