I’m looking for a double press (two rows of rings) that has a Harrow fitted in front to get stubbles chitted but also consolidated. I want it to double up as my rolls as well. We’ve got both 6m and 12m Cambridge rolls but there’s no easy way of adding harrows due to how they fold and also being Cambridge rolls they are useless in damp conditions hence wanting a press ring instead but the single row presses (600mm etc) are poor at consolidating everything.
The simba uni press or vaderstad carrier are of no interest as being single row presses they do nothing.
A double row simba cultipress or vaderstad rexius seems extremely overpriced and also to heavy for seedbed rolling.
Tillso rake and roll has the Harrow right but poor press area.
Any ideas? Probably 6m or 8m wide will do.

this sort of thing - cousins will make whatever you want though

I'd be looking for a second hand double press like a 6m farmforce one and look to see if in the workshop I could cobble something up taking the leading rigid tines off and try putting some sprung grass harrow type tines on

Why not make a tillage train out of a set of short disks and one of your existing rollers? Adaptable to conditions and can swap for a trailed ring press if the need arises

Thanks for the replies, we've got a knackered 6m set of rolls due for an upgrade and wanted to make sure we weren't limiting it to the big tractors only by getting 12m but sounds like it will pull them fine

What value would you put on a 2009 5m carrier. Discs half worn. Loads of life in the press rings. Numerous bearings been changed as well. There’s a couple of frame repairs been done but they’ve been done very well. Tyres and axles all good. I’ve run it in the field for half an hour and it pulls are true and correct.

Probably gone up. Just sold a 5m version, one of the first 2007 for £14,000 + vat. Very tidy though with no repairs.
