Drilling Buckwheat with Rapeseed.

Anyone got tips for mixing/ sowing Buckwheat with Aurelia OSR and drilling with a Vaderstad Rapid with radar metering ?

I have people drill the buckwheat before drilling the OSR by several days/week, so it has a chance to get growing before the osr, I guess it’s a fine line before damaging the soon to be growing buckwheat, but they seem successful at it.

Cement mixer and then off you go. Seems to work.

Chuck bags in telehandler bucket, run my hand through it a few times, tip it in the drill. Works well

First time sowing buckwheat this year, broadcast it at 12 metres day before drilling osr on july 30th.
drill covered buckwheat then we rolled it. All coming out fine.

looks like the plan here is to drill osr with the sumo then stocks spreader on front of roller tractor, tickle in with the paddles on rollers

That happened to me in 2022. The flea beetle ate the osr and left the buckwheat.

But that's not what the OP was asking.

Cement mixer and then off you go. Seems to work.

It's best not to put a large quantity of mix into the drill as the vibration will separate it. Add little and often.

The one time i did it mixed them together as i was going. I never put much in the drill with osr, always paranoid about not running out of seed

Thanks guys, i did 5ha at a time. Mixed by hand in a telendler bucket. All coming through ok, no sign of the beetle yet.
