Worn out my Dunlop Purofort non safety wellies so took myself off to Wynnstay for a re-shoeing only to be told that they are not currently stocking Dunlop due to problems with people returning pairs pdq (especially the thermo ones) shortly after purchase.

Is right?

Had a new pair a couple of months ago and seen ok so far but 🤷‍♂️

Having said that, I don't think they last as long as they used to. Seem lighter as well though, so maybe thinner rubber?

I threw out a pair last month. They had both spilt on the seam at the back of the heal.
I'd only had them 6 months.
Interesting as same happened to 2 pairs here too. Nothing worse than an unexpected cold foot. Big bit of superglue has fixed it at present but maybe should return them as a fault in manufacturing

Have been on the "red fish" soled ones for some years.
I don't think my calves have got bigger, but they are tighter fitting than they were.

Comfiest I’ve had for ages are the cheap ‘country’ branded ones, got them in Harbro. Much comfort than Dunlops, last a year or so.

Last 2 pairs of dunlops have gone porous across the top where the toes bend. Won’t bother with any more. 3 months is all they lasted. Can’t afford to keep putting carrier bags on my feet at 30p a pop.
Same on my latest steel toe ones.
Kept the good one of the previous pair thinking it might come in handy in a year or two if I got a hole in one.
3 months in & had to go fetch it from the shed. Same bloody foot as the good one on latest pair
Will need to look for something else this winter.

So far, so good. Lasting well, can be slippy with no defined heel.

Don't bother, couldn't get 6 months out of the last pair, the pair before that they replaced as both soles cracked straight across after a few months.
Trying Dunlop's know but reading this thread I'm going to be disappointed 😔

Whole family gone away from dunlops, rubbish boots, just dont last, not that others are far behind.
My problem is many companies do size 14/15.
Im on bekinas now, not bad but i have to cut the top 4" off as i have big calves, also the monster grips on the bottom can be a bit of a pita sometimes as they tend to catch on allsorts, and been arse over tit a few times because of them, but getting my size is the biggest problem.

3 feet make a yard.
2 of yours make a farm yard 😁.

Wellies just seem to be rubbish these days. I used to by Chameaus and get two years then they only lasted a year. Moved onto Buckboots wellies and they were fine for the first pair then the next two pairs only lasted 6 months. I bought JCB steel toes and they came with a massive overmould on the inside sole that took ages to cut out.
I've no idea what to buy next.
