Just wondered if costs vary around the country? round here 18 months since was over £100 for an adult cow but this last year te local companies have been trying to under cut each other and we were down in the mid £40s. Then this week one was in the yard quoting £30 and he'd take any calves while he was here for nowt!
Is this typical?

seems to be a bit of a knacker man price war going on in the north west, had firms up from cheshire and down from cumbria dropping cards in with their prices, it has sharpened up the local guy though who has dropped his prices to match the others

£30 !!!!! I would be worrying about where that meat was ending up . £100 here and thats with a big firm who you would think could do it as cheap as most.

We have been paying £16 for a ewe for years to Dundas or Warrens but recently Robinson Mitchell have dropped prices to £8 so we have moved to them, very happy so far and a big saving across the year. Although obviously nothing dies here 🤥
Snap! And there quick at shifting them. Rang at 8.30 the other morning and it was gone by 9!

Pretty sure Warrens is same price even if you drop them off. But very good efficient folk to deal with and post mortem on site is useful service.

Yeah we liked them, never used the pm service but we moved to them from dundas many years ago but at half the price we had to go to Robinsons.
