How do farmall tractors compare to others for scraping out? We have been looking for a something second hand to replace our worn out 4000 but not much out there.

We bought a new 55 2wd no cab 18mnths ago, few little sensor niggles and if you can find one with a power shuttle not a clumsey manual one. All the smaller tractors from main brands are made under licence by other manufacturers, won't be alot to choose

If it has the same electric forwards/reverse shuttle as the bigger ones, than I would avoid. it is one of the most utterly crap, dangerous designs I have come across on our Farmall 115c.

It will catch you out and you will accidentally shunt forwards/reverse when you least expect it!

Our Farmall hasn't been the most reliable, but mainly that's due to having a under specced front axle on a loader tractor.

Drove one when I worked for someone else. They changed up to the c range after the clutch went on both the case and the new Holland on the other farm.

as far as I know they’re both still doing well.

We run the NH T4.55 which looks the same but blue. New 2 years ago on the dot. Been ok. Gearbox had to come apart as it wouldn’t go backwards. It was just out of warranty but nh picked up the bill and dealer lent us a tractor while away. Couple of wheel bearings on front gone but that’s the lads driving too far into the sand slurry and poor seals initially.
nice to drive and otherwise ok. Possibly thirsty but can’t be sure. 1200hrs now. Power shuttle should be much more reliable than previous clutch eating transmission. Turkish made. Dealer built front frame to protect bonnet while touch driving!
