There wasn’t, I’ve bought the same twice, different grants 10 years apart

A lot of stuff in there that I’ve bought and paid for the last few years, pi**es me off.
Are we only supposed to invest in our businesses every 2 or 3 years when they announce a grant?
About to buy an automatic milk feeder for lambs but there is no way the grant will be processed in time for lambing this year so will end up paying for 100% of that too!

Your not supposed to but can you not apply for grant and buy it anyway then when grant comes through get some of your money back. Might have to get creative with some paperwork

That rather misses the point.
I've not been able to get a grant for many things I've wanted to buy over the years so bought them without only to find the rules subsequently change.
It has set up a core of people who now 'farm' grants and the rest of us just go without.
It distorts the industry for all, and for the worse.

Have been looking at a new cattle crush. Looking at the grant info yesterday it doesn’t look like either of my shortlist meet the grant spec. Looks like I won’t bother applying and I I’ll get what is best for me.
Perhaps that is Defra’s plan!

Its in capital grants of SFI not this section.

Think I m right in that as long as its more than five years apart , you can claim for the same again . My cousin is changing drills as its 6 years ago when he claimed last .
