Fastrac

Good evening all

Im new to this, so hang with me!

the family and I have taken over the family farm in Austria, near to Graz. I’m looking for a good tractor that will hit the sweet spot for he needs. Field work, road work, tanking etc.

I really like the Fastrac and I’m going to have a look at one tomorrow. The 8330 looks good, maybe overkill for the work I’ll do, but the 4220 looks awesome as well.

Any more tips or advice would help this newbie out!
Thanks all

The big difference between the 8330 and the 4220 except the physical size of course will be the 100+ hp difference under the bonnet.
Apparently the 4220 are nice tractors but slightly under powered compared to their weight. The 8330 should pull like a train.

I have a few friends who have Steinbauered the 4220 and made it what it should be.

Thanks for all the replies.

It’ll be a mixed farm, we’re going to take on around 10 Lambs in the Spring, along with 50-60 Chicken.

Probably not drilling in the spring, going to turn over the soil as it’s not been done in years. Then drill later in the year.

A lot of the problem, is that land is not ideally situated, with 10km+ drives between some, hence why they Fastrac would be a preference.

Hope this helps

How big in total is your land in hectare’s?
I assume you have inherited parts of multiple fields like the old Austrian inheritance laws once were? With fields getting smaller as their subdivided through the siblings ?

Can you use contractors to do the work for you - there’s huge investment to buy a tractor that is 10 lambs and 50 chickens wouldn’t pay for a tyre on a fastrac let alone anything else...

Once you drive a 4220 you won't want to drive anything else.
Fit a camera for the pick up hitch - you might not use those in Austria.
Or wait for the rear axle to snap in half to help with the angle of view😄
