The 3000s only used the Sisu engines in the Tier 4 variants. The tier 3b ones that had the P tronic box used Cummins. The 8000 series used Cummins engines and a Vario box way before the engines changed make.

They were still choosing to use the Sisu power plant without a vario which was the point of my reply to PS.

Not really. They were still using cummings aswel and did not commit untill the 4000's

That was the point of my post.

AGCO are happy to sell you as many SISU power plants as you want, but if their Vario is going to a competitor into a “volume” selling range (and I use that word reservedly with JCB sales) then they will want the whole deal. Barring a few odds and sodds in the 8000s

Is the head further back compared with conventional tractor.

We run a 4220 with a 5.7 m twose hedge cutter and is good to use even with all the armour over the windows even though you are looking through the curve. We tried the front offset one but it didn’t seem to much better.

I can't think of a worse tractor to put a hedgecutter on .

Clearly not, judging by the opinions of people who have actually done the job. Seen a few mounted on the rear platform as well. Looks ideal to me but having never used one i cant really comment.......
