Fransguard 390.

I ve got the chance of one of these machines, lv finished silage for the year but had been looking for this type of machine, anybody used one for rowing up 2 8ft rows. Looks strong build.

The gearbox is dodgy in ours - it’s the same box they use in the smaller 300 (which we have one and has always been fine) so I don’t think they can cope with the extra weight / crop flow.
We’ve also just bought a rake as they aren’t the best for rowing up either. They are probably ok on level fields in thinnish crops but the basket design doesn’t lend itself so anything more than slightly undulating. All in all, I wouldn’t buy another one.

What would be better the guy has one of these shop soiled,
Tedder-combo3.jpg

I'm really only wanting something to row up to lighish 8ft rows after wilting afew day, as lm finished for the year lm not really bothered, but the guy says he asked nearer 4 grand for them but does want it sitting all winter. So would take 2.

When I decided to make our but of hay back in May I asked my brother if I could borrow his Tedder. Long story short, his massive Kuhn thing was too big to even get in the gate.

He said “I’ve got the old Fransgard. It’s parked by the scrap heap. If it breaks yet again, bring it back and park it on top of the scrap heap! “

It didn’t ted the grass out across the full width and he told me not to even bother trying to row up with it.

Don’t bother, we bought one and couldn’t get it to row up whatever we did. Neither the local dealer or RECO could make it work so it was swiftly changed for a lely rotonde which has worked well for the last 5 years
