Front axle suspension accumulators.

The ones on my 7490 have lost their bounce. Anyone know whether these things can be refilled with N gas, or are they now scrap? There are two big ones and a smaller one fitted to the 2004 Carraro front axle. Not the independent suspension type but the beam axle type.
Original equipment replacements from MF will mean selling one of my wife or daughter's kidneys to afford a set.

I bought a kit and gas and regassed ours, that said if they have gone flat it may suggest they’re leaking internally slightly, but ours still seem ok. From memory I think the smaller one at the top was 90bar and 2 larger ones at sides 50 bar, I didn’t do the one at the top as when I cracked it open with a Allen key it still seemed to have plenty of pressure.

Our has front linkage so had to remove accumulator to get the charging kit on the end, pretty sure if just weight frame you’ll be able to do them while still fitted.

That sounds promising.

I would have to check what mine is, but I bought something like this off eBay
They are filled with nitrogen. I got a rent-free bottle with a one-off payment of I think £80 and then just pay for top ups after that I would have to look who that was off

You want to slacken the Allen key off first in accumulators and see if oil comes out because if it does, you’ll still need new accumulators anyway, but I think replacement ones are normally around 2 to £300.
If the accumulators have lost pressure, the rubber bellows rubs in the top of the accumulator, and that is normally why they end up leaking.

if your down this way you can try to charge them here
most likely they are fubar
get them from kramp and a m28-12bsp adapter and youll save over 60% from mf
10bar small and 50bar large accumulater pressures so get higher pressuered accumulators

That’s easy. There’s a rocker switch specifically to lower the suspension to the bottom, which I suspect lets all the hydraulic pressure go.
There will likely still be a fair bit of pressure in them, if you slacken the pipe on the back of them just enough to let the oil start to weep out and just leave them for a while, try to take them off with any oil pressure in them and it’s messy and alarming

Not sure how much room is on the larger frames but with the 2 accumulator mod the nearside bottle runs very close to the wheel, the wheel will even rub the bottle if the stops are wrong so I modified mine

Mine are in a cluster of three bottles directly in front of and centred on the axle. My steering lock is adjusted to the maximum and lugs run against the loader frame side rails, so I’ve rounded the sharp corners of the rail so as not to tear the lugs. To get the maximum lock, I have 16.9R30 on the front rather than the same profile as matches the 620/70R42 on the back. The front are therefore slightly narrower tyres so as to achieve the optimum lock.
