Frost and septoria

We've had our 4th ground frost during May. Question is, how will this affect septoria? Will it have been enough to kill the fungus? Added to that, it is also dry.

They were only light ground frosts, but each leaf was white with frost.

It will slow it down but not kill it. We might see another summer like last year, where (because of drought then) septoria took ages to catch up but did so eventually and all the foliar disease was seen long after ear emergence.

Thanks I've nothing much to add to the thread, but was interested in the collective's thoughts and knowledge.

I suppose the frost can only help to slow down seproria, and maybe not rush to put the flag leaf spray on until full leaf emergence across the field. Well, we could if we didn't have to use the ctl by the 20th

June's going to be very wet this year and, in hindsight, getting a good dose of CTL on by 20th May probably the best preventative advisory for a generation.

We've had 2 springs of dry weather around flag spray timing here but I'm glad I listened to advice to keep using SDHI and CTL as untreated and low input trial plots were really devastated by disease that didn't show until late June.

Always the same, any kind of mistake or cock-up with fungicides and you would know about it in June as the flag leaf would be pickled by then.

in dry years the flag leaf spray usually is the only one that pays
if you have been caution and spent up to now the flag could be cheap
my wheat drilled in September had ctl and epoxy t1 then ctl at 1.5 now waiting for flag leaf now
growth stages for tillers are all over the place some areas at gs 31 some at 34 some at 37 in the same field
so little and often covers the diffent stages
in a dry year rust can be the biggest yield robber
