This one cut through a vein and my arm blew up like balloon. Must have been on the nerve because I couldn't use three fingers for a weekHad to have my chin glued after I hit a bearing and bits flew!

And knee protectorsThose flanged bearings are Sods to get off as mentioned destroy outer to get to inner race.
Carefully and wear goggles.
Cast iron , dangerous gearsurprising the number of people who have been injured by breaking up a bearing
Dead right.Be careful hitting a bearing with a hammer, can chip and fly anywhere. Last time I did one the chip went through two layers of clothes into my arm. Still in there
The chips were off the face of the hammer. I'd cranked the puller as tight as I dared and thought a few whacks on the side of the race would shift itDead right.
I ended up with a Chelsea smile breaking one with a lump hammer, caught me in the corner of my mouth, an eye wouldn’t of stood a chance.
I'll be thinking of this every time I see you nowThis one cut through a vein and my arm blew up like balloon. Must have been on the nerve because I couldn't use three fingers for a week
Oooooh,Matron!!I'll be thinking of this every time I see you now
That’s how the bearing looks from new, pickup reel on a Mchale baler. If you use hammer and chisel wear goggles... I made up a pullers to do similar job ... looks like a replacement bearing has been fitted sometime also looks like a cover is fitted so hiding grease point
Good tool used to have something similar but 9 times outta ten in Agri situation it was hopeless but in a cleaner environment eg not so much rust it would do the job
OkThat’s how the bearing looks from new, pickup reel on a Mchale baler.
THat looks the business.
