Havent harvested yet. Seen them on done deal and thought it would mabe dry the grain. Any 1 any experience of using a drying floor with a rough wood burner as iv been thinking recently about a new shed with couple of bays with the concrete heads with air slots

Trying to dry beans here with perforated twin wall drainage pipe underneath and pedastal fans blowing hot air from a space heater.

First time we have tried it, got a continuous flow dryer but don’t like to use it for beans as feel rightly or wrong they don’t do it any good. Not sure how long it will take, cut at 17-18%, the bottom will dry more than the top as haven’t got a stirrer, so not ideal but minimal cost to set up.

Careful not to burn out the fan motors running them like that, I'm afraid you will struggle with warranty if you do. They want a 6mm cable and 16a socket all to themself.

I would seriously consider a much bigger fan connected to both pipes, neighbour uses 2 x 24"" pipe connected to a tractor fan with space heater for heat. (30 x 40ft shed)

Cut quite a heap last year 16-16.5%, original plan was it was all going to be fed as caustic wheat so not worried too much about moisture. Ran the pedestals into January to get the temperature down. What with one thing and another ended up selling and not feeding, last 100t went in July it was in great condition but still 16-16.5%, I just popped it through the dryer.
