That must be a serious pain in the arse when your working hard to make a genuine living from the land. People have become so far removed from agriculture that they are a lot easier to convince that cruelty is normal in animal production. If animals are in its intensive and if they're out the poor things must be cold!

It's easy when you are a charity too... living off big hand outs (donations), no doubt they claim the entitlements too?

It'll all change when subs go.

@had e nuff been reliable informed(from someone who was there) average at Croxdale was seemingly £140 acre with top price of £200, but said could have gone a lot further if more grass. Is this in line with ewes and lambs averaging £48 a life through ring yesterday?

Didn't see any ewes sold yesterday, no interest in sheep so went and had my dinner. Grass still too expensive at £140 in my opinion.

The land and herding components are up. The fert cost is down, I think ours with fert was about same total as last year for 250 kg / ha 20.8.11 or similar. It’s the law of supply and demand. The biggest benefit for our customers seems to be flexibility. But I guess every situation is different.
Our trade is driven by cows not sheep, though we get a lot of sheep.
