We looked at getting front times but tried a cheepo option instead first. Yours is a lovely setup. Do the front tines make a big difference? Do you use them all the time?

There good but a think you've got to play about with the whole machine to get it set up right. Sometimes things are still too hard to make enough tilth on top. We only had rear at first but everything needed done twice nearly and got fed up and geoffrey wox convinced us when we were vunruble last year. If a new reseed into a ploughed field I dont use them but do for working ploughing with power harrow behind.

How do mean with setting up , angle most aggressive raise roller to add pressure???
Reason thinking about one

Yeah basically. Just trail and error really. Like a said we raised the roller up 1 hole where its attached to the harrow unit and that made a massive difference to the machine. Now puts more weight onto the tines. The front heavier tines alter seperate which we altered the angle so they were straighter which made them rip ground up more. Just played around with it. Also got some new longer style tines to replace 1 day but havent used them yet

Looks a great set up. What area can you cover in a good day, on Grass to Grass. What amount of seed are you using per acre ? Or is a lot of it getting a feel for it, with what the conditions are like? Would you go wider or you think 3m is ideal?
Currently looking at such a machine, could really improve are grass production and keep costs down with not having to plough as often

Any advice appreciated [emoji106]

With front attachment it is a true 1 pass machine. 4-5 acres/hr once set up.18kg/acre seed rate to compensate for pests, on grass to grass full reseed. 3m is wide enough on our hilly ground also, drill is pretty heavy because of roller. I don't use it much but used it the other day to patch up some tanker ruts and was amazed at how much tilth the front disc generated, we might fit some front depth wheels
