Have land going into SFI overwintered cover crops, winter bird food and (hopefully) summer catch crops, all of witch I am hoping will be drilled before the end of August, has anyone managed to get a derogation for hedge cutting prior to entry into options like this? before Monday morning is wasted on the phone! RPA website saying only oilseed rape or temporary grassland.

Think you are actually planning to put rape in.
Then you will be forced by the weather into changimg your mind....after cutting the hedge

I've applied for a derogation 3 weeks ago in fields due to be sown with oilseed rape. No answer from the RPA yet.

As above, only osr or grass sowing is eligible for the derogation. Sow the cover crop and cut the hedges in the autumn.

I read the guidance last night. I don't think we'll get a reply now. Just keep the auto reply they say.

As I understand it the bounce back email receipt is the acknowledgment you need. Mine came back instantly.

Sorry sent before I’d read the replies above. :banghead:
