Horsch pronto

I don’t run a pronto but I do run pronto coulters on my drill though.
If buying used check the disc’s aren’t overly worn otherwise they will block for fun. They should touch each other and have a slight pre load so the turn a one. There are shims that can be removed to tighten them up. Also check the hub bearings.
The disks and bearings aren’t something you’ll be changing often at all but it is something to check if it’s done big acreage.
They will put seed in the ground very well though, I’d definitely have another horsch.

Bought a 2015 one a few months ago. Done some cover crops and sfi, but now using combi drill due to land going bottomless.
That wasn't meant to be the plan but don't fancy getting stuck !! Hopefully eventually get to use it properly sometime.

Depends on soil type anything with clay on ploughed ground will need worked. There’s lots of grease nipples, in a wet season there a waste of time, that age won’t have the stronger box section on the coulter arms and they snap off for fun in stony conditions. Very accurate seed/fert rate though and you can fly on if the conditions are good but I wouldn’t go back to one. Vaderstad spirit looks to have more cultivation and better wheels

All I’ll say is punchers, if you have stone/flints or uneven lanes and move it around full of seed, then get used to removing the rear axle to get at the inside tyres.
Great drill in the dry, total anchor in the wet, glad to see the back of ours.

Been using one for a long time now and the only bad thing really is if you get a puncture in the middle section. Fantastic drill for getting on and I find they are decent enough in the wet unless it’s mud you are trying to sow into. As above the earlier model coulters used to snap off, think I must of changed every one on my 6dc, used to carry a couple of spares with me. Took about half an hour to get everything changed over onto the new one. Newer models are a good improvement
