I got one of them I’ll point a post up & try it….Post driver with a rock spike. Done plenty. Just drive spike through stump. New post will follow hole. New post will in right place for gate.
exactly kissThis,
Done one last year, just put a good point on the new post and drove it down through the old one no problem
I got one of them I’ll point a post up & try it….
Be nxt week mind…
Few yrs back the one & only time I’ve got the rock spike stuck - under an oak tree, must av jammed between roots….. absolutely fast as f**k had to take it all apart & got the digger to lift it out - and that struggled to….. hell of a job. Mind u @TelesnaAg probably thinks I being tight again & should av jus left it & bought a new post driver………..!Any chance you could have a go a bit sooner? I’ve a few to do and I’d like to know how well it works before I bugger up my rock spike.
I suppose if the spike gets stuck in the post, you’ve then got the hydraulics on the post knocker to pull the stump out.

Yehits a softwood post that rotted off isn't it ?
I wouldn’t worry about getting the spike stuck in a rotted off post be fineI had the exact same thing happened here, even down to the species of tree. Merlo struggled to get that out too.
That’s why I’d like you to try it first…
This is exactly what I would doGot some fertilizer? Got any diesel? Mix to get ANFO. Put in hole. Light and run away fast.
This has the advantage of digging the new hole for you.
Boil some 34.5% in water 'til it's dry to remove the wax. This is exactly what I would do
How much we talking like, is a new hole dear or…….?
It's the installation that's getting dear.New holes are dirt cheap.....
Is there a reason it has to go in the same spot?I give up….
Because the cattle know their way there?
