How much grease in a hedgecutter?

My 6570t has four rotor nipples and they get greased every roughly 12 hours 3/4 pumps from a manual gun. Driveshaft every few months.

My 2019 McConnel has two nipples on driven end and one on the other side.

In September/october when I do 10 hour days I give it 5 or 6 pumps twice a day.
This time of year doing 4/5 hours a day, it gets done once.

The pto gets about 3 pumps once a month.

Clock up around 450 hours per season.

There's no seals in his flail rotor bearings so they cant blow out ,

which is why over greasing spoils bearings.

under greasing those bearings will potentially cause more damage than under. its a very high speed .very Heavy duty thing spinning around .

If you don't understand what to do youre welcome to Phone McConnell or A main supplier Like Halse of Honiton, speak to their Workshop would be best .

Well I’ve just greased mine 300 pumps from a Milwaukee battery gun one end and just over 250 the other end before grease came out 😳
That is over half a tube of grease?

I am left wonder how much different users end up spending on replacement rotor bearing while they keep the hedge cutter and how much they spend on grease.

I grease my McConnell 5455's shaft at the start of the season 2 pumps in each UJ. Then after around every hundred hours. Using good quality grease.

Everything else, the pins, pivots, flail head get greased every 8-10 hours or each full days hedge cutting. Put 2-3 pumps into all the greasers.

The 4 on the flail rotor bearings get about 8-10 pumps. They aren't sealed.
