Hydraulic Ram Referb

I have i ram which could do with a spruce up Rod is appox 2" and has approx stroke of 30". Could anyone tell what i would expect to pay to get a new rod put in and fresh seal?? TIA

Well I had a hedge trimmer ram redone and it cost £600 which I thought was way too much but had no option at the time.

Last year we did a 1.2m 40mm rod on a bed tiller.
Bought a lenght of bright steel, cut it down to length, turned a thread on both ends.
One for the eye and one for the seal, match seal with the seal company and all done for £90
You dont say if your ends were weld on or not.

These guys have just made a new casing for manitou compensation ram for £280

And currently making new casing for tilt ram on same machine for £420

all painted resealed and pressure tested as well.

20 to 30 for seals plus what ever the machine shop charges

I have used these chaps to recon rums in the past if the rod is not pitted they will have it dechromed and put a new tube on the old end's

Not sure where in N Yorks you are, But A5 Hydraulics in Darlington are good and don`t take the pee

Maybe a bit far but thorne hydraulics do a good job .I have a ram off our miniflow in there at the moment

Lift ram off a 4.6m unipress new rod, end nut and fit seals that we had was £600, fold ram off same machine new rod and fit seals was £300

I got two new rods and seals on a burnt out front linkage renewed for £200

I was quoted approx £150 to re rod the dipper ram on my JCB 3C.

A5 Hydraulics at Darlington are recommended for machining work like that.

I use DMH Hydraulics at Northallerton for most everything else
