I beam Forming

Has anyone ever had an I beam formed to allow for using as part of a camber form, as I'm thinking of how I can create the appropriate camber on my drive when I chuck a load of planings down prior to rolling, and thought about a formed I beam frame on a 3PL?

If anyone has had one formed, was it seriously expensive to get done?

Made one years ago from rsj . Wore it out so added some inch plate in front of rsj and made it adjustable so you can have it level if needed. Holds about 2 to 3 ton of stone . Quite a easy job now keeping farm roads in good order.

Do you have any photos / drawings if you are happy to share to show how it was made, and how the adjustments work?

Angle ring or Barnshaws are the two companies we use on a regular basis for section rolling. Have also had the arc profiled and pulled a piece of flat to the profile to create the camber. Granted, slightly different applications to what you are doing but the same principle would apply I would have thought.

Doesn’t look very smart but it’s about 20 years old now . Lower at the back so we can back a trailer up to it to fill it up .

Flat plate slotted in centre and clamp drilled offset so it can be rotated to stopper to adjust the height in the centre.

That's a great tool, so I may borrow the idea to help with my drive repairs.
Thanks for sharing 👍

Mate has a symular looking thing for tarmac, but leaves level. Wagon is backing up i believe as tractor draws forward, but the wagon wheels leave marks as ud expect , backing on it b4 the roller. Never seen it used but works apparently.

Talking of « rolling », did you get to do any pasture rolling?
I’ve been on a mission here, best year for it for years

Yes, got out and harrowed and rolled, but could have done with a bit more ballast in the roller I believe. Too much damage to get just with the harrows and rolling as is, but a lot better and safer to walk for the boss.

The inevitable 'Docks' are now showing themselves, so will have to sort them out too, but I want to get the soil sampled first to see what's going on, then put a plan together.

Always something to do 😁
