Up in bonnie Scotland, in the borders. Its an old willow plantation. First step, clear the willow then i've no idea. I'd love to grow berries, blueberries ideally but I understand thats difficult here. Maybe honey berries. Any suggestions?

Welcome along Tom, sounds like you keep yourself busy with all that lot! Pictures of some classic machinery still working in the modern day are always welcome by many on here, be very interesting to see how you do things if your up for posting some pictures. The 'Today at Work' picture is a good thread to get involved in!Hello to everyone. I'm Tom, a partner on a family farm near Swaffham in Norfolk.
We farm about 115ha of cereals, sugar beet and potatoes on a mix of light/medium but very flinty soils. We also run a 300 head beef fattening unit, using the cereals grown on the farm as the base for their diet.
We also have laying hens, a caravan and camping site, vehicle storage, farm shop, commercial lettings and engineering services.
DIVERSIFICATION! YAY!
I'm fairly sure I know a few people here - maybe my neighbours will say hello. I also hope that maybe a few of you all may have seen me and our farm on your little screen - we were featured in Anglian Agri Media's DVD production "Classic Farming with Classic Machinery".
I've been lurking for a few months and look forward be becoming a (slightly) active member.

Welcome along Karl, nice to have someone onboard who is happy to disclose who they are from the off, many come on here pretending to just be a 'customer' of some amazing product they have found and its soon worked out who they really are. There's quite a few general pickup threads and a few Isuzu threads from memory so I'm sure your expertise will be very useful! Plenty of other stuff to discuss on here as well!Hello I am new to this site that’s why I’m here

Welcome aboard @JBattyHello. I’m Batty. I’m an agricultural writer. Although I’m interested in everything, crop farming is my focus. I’m not here to sell my services or any products. I’m here to observe and learn.
Ah, yes. Plenty of "old hands" on hereThanks for the welcome. I do have questions but I don’t want to overstep.
Opinions work all day long when they come from experts and those with years’ long-experience — old hands in the field.
