Iphone 5SE anywhere new still available??

At that price, I’m tempted to replace my SE before it ‘needs’ it one day.

£208 + VAT its a no brainer afaik.
got two of them for us here.
They can sit sealed in there boxes until we need them.
Had about 3yrs use out of 1st iphone before the battery was not holding its charge that long & current one is just over 2 yr old now.
2 Filters on one of my tractor is more than a new phone its nowt on the scale of things.

Was it Apple last year who were found to be deliberately using updates to slow down older model phones to persuade people to upgrade to a newer version.

Trouble is people just don't upgrade annually any more. At £1000+ a phone it's not surprising they don't!!

Me neither & dont ever intend too.
Sim Only deals is so cheap now i think its still better to go that route & source your own phone as & when you need too.

Exactly right. Trouble is the whole mobile business model is based on upgrades....keep people paying their £40, 50, 70 a month even for a few months at the end of their contract.....then upgrade them to the next latest model used to be a good money spinner.

Wishing I'd bought one of these as a spare now.....my less than 12mth old SE is having to go back to Apple for a second time now. Expanded battery trouble (standard issue I had with previous iPhone 5S too) causing it to boot loop.

Glad it's under warranty....and a John Lewis purchase too so least it'll see out a second year under warranty too. These things get less and less unreliable.

Having had a 4, 4S and 5S, and my wife having the bigger 7 with 128gig and myself the standard 8 with 64gig, I would certainly say that the 7 and 8 are far better phones and more reliable phones than the old form 4 and 5. All those eventually had bad battery issues where the phone would cut out at 30% or so. Even paid £80 for a replacement battery on one 5S and got a brand new one instead, which itself suffered the same issue within two years. My current 8 is two years of age and the battery health monitor reports that it has lost only 10% of its original capacity. I have not noticed any shorter life in practice, although I accept that it has 90% of its original charge life.

I find the wife's 7S much too big for pocketing but it suits her, because she carries it in her handbag. The standard 7 and 8 and indeed the expensive 10 [X] models are just the right size. Not too big. Not too small. I have a rubber cover and a plastic screensaver on mine. My wife has a thin glass screensaver and a similar back cover which extends just over the edge of the front glass to drastically reduce the probability of damage if dropped.
The other major advantage of the 7 and up models is that they have a good degree of water resistance, so can be used with confidence during light drizzle, possibly more. The home button is fixed, even though it has a haptic feedback that you would swear was the button moving. They also have a fingerprint scanner in the button for instant unlocking, plus the standard ability to store your credit card with contactless payments, without the £30 limit you get with a standard credit card.

i used a se for ages (hgv fitter ) with no issues just upgraded to the se 2 and still no issues although slightly larger would have prefered it to be same size as se1 but a very good phone (screen protector and bump case)

12 mini is smaller than SE 2, so is the 13 mini and they are both better phones but you do have to pay more of course. I expect there are plenty of very good used 12 minis out there for sale.

Just bumping this as Mrs B's current SE (32GB) is getting a little aged and full.

I can't persuade her to have a proper phone so we sadly have to go down the expensive route.

Suggestions for the 'best value' similar product available now?

What about a new second generation SE? I swapped this year from an old SE that had an arguement with a cows foot( whilst still in my pocket)
