It’s not done it before when I’ve done short runs, took it for a 30 minute blow out, thought it was sorted but doing it again now.Toodling about is no good for them ,,needs a good burn out ,,my navara did it once not long after I got it ,,wondered what was wrong with it ,,couldnt get above 20mph ,,took it for a good run and gave it some beans ,,hasnt done it since
You have a problem. Likely EGR valve stuck open, faulty injector, or a faulty pressure sensor on the dpf. It’s pulling a trailer every day, never noticed a regen until the last 2 weeks, now it’s doing it all the time.
First thing check your oil level regulary, frequent regens can raise your oil level very fast.My D Max keeps going into regen, short trips mainly, but can do it twice in an 8 mile trip, it’s 67 plate done just over 30000 miles, any ideas, dealer can’t see it till the end of next week.
Have they checked the injectors do you know?Took the truck back to the dealer yesterday.
They changed the oil, as there was too much in the truck.
Found the turbo wasn’t boosting, so repaired the vacuum line (blocked/kinked).
Forced a slow regen
Removed and checked egr.
Charged £226.67 plus vat.
Picked it up, drove 10 minutes and regen light was back on, came on 4 times in the hour and 20 minutes drive home, taking it back today.
Just out of interest how much were the new injectors?First thing check your oil level regulary, frequent regens can raise your oil level very fast.
second I would recommend asking an isuzu main dealer to run diagnostics, a good dealer shouldn’t charge it doesn’t take long.
Over fueling injectors are a common problem and this will block the dpf and then cause frequent regens which makes matters worse.
Mine needed 2 new injectors because they was overfueling and Iv pulled it back from 30ml regens to 100-110mls.
People normally recommend dpf and egr delete programs but this still won’t cure overfueling injectors.
It could be a faulty £100 dpf sensor or the £400 sensor also apparently.
They are saying injectors are fine?Have they checked the injectors do you know?
That’s how they test them. Mine were only a little out of tolerance but they checked them a few times over a number of weeks and then decided they were out enough to make a difference. They are saying injectors are fine?
not sure how they test them more than off the laptop?
Apparently mine are in tolerance.
Saying they thinks it’s the dpf itself
Bugger, dealers are talking to Isuzu now.mine doing the same so I have had enough and sold it
Tbh it’s been good for 9 years but getting very rusty underneath, and getting noisy in 4wd ( gets a hard life) and when my last jap pickup went bang ( Nissan)and had to be wrote off at a fairly young age, I vowed not to keep them as long. Seem to get a money pit at 10 years plus. Previous Isuzu ( trooper) had engine problems so I have decided rightly or wrongly only to buy European from now on so a 2 year vw is on its way. No doubt it will have its issues aswellBugger, dealers are talking to Isuzu now.
I think it was about £1200-1300 but that was a main dealer. I know their a little dearer but I think you get better peace of mind and back up should there be other problems.Just out of interest how much were the new injectors?
