John deere 5125R. What's the verdict on this model?

Don’t buy one
We’ve got a 5125r loader tractor, done 1200 hours 11 warranty claims, brakes are rubbish they hiss at you when working the pedal travels to the floor, the back end snapped off pulling a jd1365 mower, cab leaks, transmission is very jerky, overall very disappointed with it, plus they’re not cheap to buy
Bloody hell that doesn't sound good, I haven't heard one good report about this model........

A mate of mine had a new one a couple years back and there was such a twist in the hydraulic cross shaft one arm had to be run 2 inches wound out to be level with the other wound fully in. Apparently they all have been manufactured with twisted cross shafts of some degree.
There were also continual faults and JD done a deal to exchange it for another which has been better.

My old 6200 had a bent cross shaft.

Rep said he should have checked before he sold it as they are prone to it!

I haven't looked at a 5 series in ages, but am I right in thinking that while assembled in Mannheim, they are made up of major components from JD's 3rd world factories?

The newer 5 series are a different tractor to the older 5 series like 5820 which were a smaller replica of a 6 series with full length chassis and heavy back end

Demo'd a 5125R a year ago. Awful tractor. I'm used to 6R and 6M and I tried the 5125R as a means to see how it would do replacing a 6 series. There was nothing at all I liked about it. Id sooner buy a second hand 6M than a new 5 series.
