How do these compare?. Been using Trimble RTX rangepoint for 5 yrs and got on well drilling etc but obviously has an a annual subscription and SF 1 being free. Thinking of going to SF1 on a 4640 and SF6000 dôme so I can go Isobus etc. How do the 2 signals compare in accuracy and repeatability? Anyone using both? Thanks

Sf1 with a 6000 dome I'm happy with it .

It's a bit wavy with the angle the sumo ran at and the new front press isn't letting the tractor steer as good as it used to.

Trees really pee me off when drilling as signal drops out on range point, solarity trees seem more of a problem than right by a wooded area?? Apart from that range point works well.

Looks pretty good to me. What’s the convergence like? Picks up signal quick?

The 6000 will go from zero signal from moving field to 80% in 10-15mins about 3 times quicker than the older 3000 . Doesn't lose it nearly as bad with trees and comes back quicker when it does.

One field I sowed the rape with the sumo I never lost signal completely all the way round the endrig so 1.5m from trees sometimes under them a wee bit . I rolled the same field 8m rollers so 4m off and after waiting 30 minutes to get signal I lost it completely with the 3000 dome going past the first tree!!

All in all I think it's pretty good for what it is others will disagree but I'm happy with it

Is it as good as rtx? :cautious:

If you pays in advance for rtx you get 5 years for price of 4 so £236 per year. Its not RTK but its pretty bloody good.

The cost of the hardware isn't coming down as I would like mind.
I bought nearly 3 yrs ago the GFX-750 & NAV900 which was cheaper than the older system the CFX-750 & whatever Nav Controller etc it came with a year earlier.
Now its dearer the last time i asked? why ive no idea? Had a bit of strange one when renewing my sub before harvest as the system wouldnt lock onto signal
ended up getting both Nav-900 blanked & latest firmware/software installed & much newer Software on the Screen also. Been fine ever since.
Its all on RTX & overall iam happy with it. id change to RTK but where does the extra £4k justify that???
Do sowing & land work with it as n when i can.
Dealer never mentioned any bundled savings but at £295 i aint gonna moan too much.

What am i gonna gain out of RTK tho at that kinda money diddle squat afaik.
some folks need to operate gear for a while in the real world & dont ever totally rely on this tech being the be n end all coz it isnt.
I just make new A-B lines in fields each season as i might sow them off diff headlands & have no reason to store them or field boundary's
I think ive got the best out of the tech as it is, none of it is giving me any more £££ back it might save me half an ac a day of over lapping if working land.
but what it does do & RTK would be no better is take the concentration away at looking ahead all the time & thats the best thing about any guidance.
I dont plough with it, no point plough in furrow.
Dont bother to sow headlands or work headlands with it neither.
Had it on the rollers but seeing am following arrow straight sowing anyways & always miss the pre-em marks with tractor wheels just incase there needed
it was pretty pointless.
Great on a subsoiler doing bricks or heavy cultivator.
£4k takes some getting back not too mention the bigger outlay for what i had here in the first place.
3 years after has it paid off probs not but from a operator point of view its a great help & gets rid of the fatigue that folks just put up with.

I’ve been on sf1 for years, been very happy with it. Yes you can get a bit of drift over time but for cereals I’ve not found it an issue, it’s it really such a task to line yourself up and press the center button at the start of the day?
What I will say is that I’ve recently upgraded to 6000 pods (my 3000’s got knicked!!!) and boy what a difference! Hardly ever drops below 90% accuracy, full signal in a few minutes from startup, doesn’t go off under trees (hardly) and I was running back to the yard for seed the other day and didn’t have to recenter it once. It’s probably the only good thing about the 3000’s going missing🙄, the new 4640 screen is also excellent, especially with the ultimate activation for auto turn😉

egnos??? am on RTX whatever that is... egnos is the free one isnt it? mind it tracks within 1-3cm pass to pass it doesnt move.
apart from satellite drift if you sit too long at the ends or go home & return half an hour later it will most times move by 15cm or 30cm.
Simple enuff to remark & away you go.
