Does anyone know where I could get some ketosaid from .Everyone seems to out of stock .
It’s about the only thing I’ve ever used that can bring a twin lamber back from the brink!
If you use something else that works well for you please share .And not a 4/10 cartridge!

How much propylene glycol is safe to give a ewe per day. I normally give 45ml every 12 hours but im sure to much can do more harm as good. Anyone explain why?

yes too much will definitely cause harm. It’s pretty close to anti freeze.

dairy cow we’d give 2/3 of a wine bottle. Think they are 75cl so 500ml dosage?

I think you’d be safe with 50ml

I reckon if they are not up by the time the propylene glycol has gone through them, and made them absolutely stink, you might as well reach for the .410.
If it is sufficiently important to you to save a presumably thin old ewe, the vet will give her something to cause her to spit the lambs. When they aren't dragging her down anymore ther is a slightly better prognosis.
I have to say I favour short-cutting all the suffering and misery and going with the lead.

Glucose solution IV is a game changer if you get it into them in the early stages.

Even glucose powder in cooled boiled water and given IV is better than anything oral.
P.S. the photo was taken in 2020 before anyone picks up on the exp. date. 🙂

Great stuff treacle.
I've never been drawn by the liquid feed idea, I tried it in the past and found to to be a logistically bothersome.

I used some in barley based mixes in the past to keep dust down and help palatability, but the old mixer came to the end of its life and I just mix feed on the floor of the shed with the grain bucket these days so it's not really an option.

I would asd a bit of molasses if I were in the position to do so, but in all honesty apart from a bit of white dust on my overalls I don't notice any difference from being without it.
