Kramer hydraulics

I have a Kramer 30.8t which I like, but lately I am having to unscrew the flat face coupling on the headstock to release pressure before reconnecting the pipe from a third service. It has a button on the boom which is supposed to release pressure and seems to work when the pipes are on the third service.
Does anyone else have this problem and any suggestions as to what the issue might be?

TIA

We had a similar problem with ours but it didnt have the button and we had to kick up a fuss for one to be added. Simply turning the engine off and waggling the stick with the ignition on didn’t work as it pressurised up whilst you climbed out the cab. So I would suggest your button is not working correctly.
Is the button wired live or is it through the ignition and if so have you got the ignition turned on?

It works when the ignition is on,
It seems as if their is pressure in the hydraulic quick hitch pin and the button doesn't release pressure from there, only in the pipes that feed into it!!
I always press the button before taking the pipes off the quick hitch pin so assume there is no pressure left in it,so can't understand why there is pressure when reconnecting.

I remember when told it was £800 to retrofit the pressure release button I caught the Kramer rep at Scotgrass and told him in no uncertain terms it should have been fitted when new as it was a necessity and told him to call in and show us what we were doing wrong. Needless to say he called in and couldn’t get the pipes off or on without a spanner so we fitted the button despite being not happy about the cost, but the bill never materialised 👍

I've put it down to hydraulic oil expanding in the attachment if the ambient temperature rises significantly whilst the attachment is unused i.e. unhitched on a cold morning and hitched again on a warm afternoon. Does this make any sense?

Yes, we often get this with the grab, need to slacken off a coupling to release pressure

It's tempting to fit a tee with a tap on the grab!

change to a quick coupler on all your attachments and the loader. problem solved. I use a stucchi for that very reason. Grab would heat up in the afternoon and couldn't get it back on front end loader. When we got the first telehandler I just got another coupler.

What I've used for last 15 years to overcome pressure in attachments.

Would the oil not be a lot warmer than ambient having been cycled through the machine before it was dropped off?
