I know this has been coverd so many times but I can't really find an up to date opinion,

Currently running dunlop purafoot field things, both me and the wife had them 18 months mine have split down the front and wife's have split on the bottom. We have tried so many different flavours but never satisfied. These ones are too short and fill up with straw, etc etc..

So what's everyone's up to date go to Wellington boot non safety, warm, cattle s**t proof and chemical proof.. if such a thing exists...

I've got Skellerups with all the trimmings (neoprene lined, steel toe caps & sole).
They're heavy, and need a lot of effort to get off - if there's no boot jack available I'll leave them on until there is! But they don't slip on wet concrete, they're warm and are really lasting well.
Definitely a yard boot not a field boot, mud sticks to them walking across a field far more than cheaper wellies.

Another vote for bekina steplite wellies. I've got the xci version, not sure if it make much difference. Bought around September 2022, so they have done 2 winters. In the last 12months I will have worn them for a good 8 months and they are still watertight.

Had some buckbootz that were really comfy but lasted 2 month before they split and the cheap shite you can get from screwfix used to last about 2-3 weeks before splitting.

Are the Bekina warm enough in winter without extra measures taken..?? I haven't put my short boots on since I brought these dunlops so they have done really well.. per haps it's better the devil you know.. humm..

Had le chameau those exact ones they lasted about 9 months before they split then they were not covered under warranty as they are not for use with cattle....

Needed wellies a few weeks ago, bought another pair of Bekinas.

Sensible money and very comfortable.

Would like them to last a bit longer but I guess that applies to pretty much everything nowadays.

Daughter gets supplied Dunlops for her work but says there's no way she'd spend her own money on them, she'd still buy Bekina.

Another vote for Steplites. Not the “X” variant though; they’ve got a different tread pattern and I’m always getting small stones stuck in the tread, which is annoying. I normally go for the standard ones:

I use the thermolite ones but they're hard to get now, think maybe they've stopped making them

I still rate the full on safety puroforts, good fit for me, plenty long and tight enough round the calves so no slop. Only way I destroy them is either kicking something so it cuts through to the toe cap or slicing them when working on the straw chopper. Wear them all year round including all summer.
So it was you...!
