No. A statement was made saying it would be a better world without religion. My answer is if you banned religion people would find other groups to be part of. Who knows what benefits would be on offer to those groups. It does not need to be a religion per se to encourage people to carry out unspeakable acts against people you feel are inferior. A case in point being the Nazis or Stalins Russia. I use analogies because I think they are easier for you to understand.
You were analogising soccer and religion... :bored:

That’s never happened before. I’ve been cancelled. The basic tenet was if there wasn’t religion people would find other things to follow. I mentioned Fendt v Valtra causing much animosity. Maybe that was it.
I prefer Johnny Popper Model A v Fordson E27N. I won`t get gonged out, will I?

I can’t think of a better analogy. Football is a religion to many people. Bill Shankly summed it up perfectly.
There is so much money in the men`s game these days that it brings out the worst in both supporters and players and sometimes managers. I much prefer women`s sport and football in particular and just hope that it does not go the same way. I have a good friend , now 86, who played for Brentford and Leyton Orient and he agrees with me. He is ashamed of today`s standards in men`s soccer.

I used to go to see Lincoln City with my Uncle and my cousin in the early 1980's and the language of my relatives both senior civil servants was not what you'd expect. The standards of modern football are much higher than they ever used to be players are much fitter and far more skilful.

Wars are generally fought over control of territory.
Wars are fought between nations.
Religion is used as a binding agent by some nations.
The war in israel/Palestine /gaza is not over religion, it's about which group is in charge of the land.
